It's our 42nd wedding anniversary today. Little did I realize 42 years ago that I would remember our wedding day so clearly. Little did I realize 42 years ago that I would even be celebrating an anniversary in 2007! Not that I wasn't sure I loved him and that he loved me but....really.....FORTY TWO YEARS!!! That's a very, very, very long time....and yet, it has passed by so quickly. Knowing our son will be THIRTY NINE YEARS OLD at his next birthday is even more incredible. I am way too young to have a son that old.....

We did take our trip to Boonville, Mo. last week. Neither of us won any big money. We managed to lose about $100 total after gambling off and on for two days.
We got home on Saturday about 6 PM. The trip wasn't as long coming home as going out there was....because we took some different roads. In spite of being stopped for about 40 minutes due to a semi trailer being on fire a few miles ahead, we still made really good time coming home.
It was so cold......both in Missouri and in Indiana. We had snow when we got home!. All my tulips are ready to bloom and are laying on the ground in shock right now. I noticed they were starting to come back to life this morning because it was about 30 degrees instead of in the 20s....hopefully they will still bloom.
We had a nice trip. We left early on Thursday and even stopped to eat lunch inside a restaurant instead of getting a sub sandwich and eating as we were riding. We still got into Boonville in the middle of the afternoon. We drove around and looked at the various restaurants and even went to play some penny slots at the casino. I think we both lost about $25 that time. We ate dinner at a cute sports bar called Fat Boys. It was named for the motorcycle crowd. It was in a little strip mall and had families on one side and adults on the other. The food was really good. We were very pleased and would eat there again. Our brother-in-law, R.'s connecting flight was delayed and he got in about 10:30 PM. We just spoke for a few minutes and then agreed to meet in the morning.
On Friday, we had a quick breakfast at the motel, and went to the casino. We all managed to lose money including any little pittance we had won along the way. There was a woman next to D (my husband) who was also playing the penny slots. I don't know how much money she had put in but she had over $500 in credit and when I walked away a few minutes later to find R., she was over $700. When I returned about 15 minutes later...she was down to less than $100. Maybe she took out the money she had won by then but she played the $100 until nothing was left!!!.
We had lunch at Pizza Hut, and explored the town a little more. We went back to the motel and R. played a tape he had from visiting a medium. His brother, G., who lives in Laporte, In. is very interested in white witchcraft and has been "studying" for a couple of years. He had talked to R. about this and even had his "teacher" give R. a reading last December. She told him about his spirit guides and so on. He was very skeptical about it then. She had told him he was closed off (guess that makes sense since he had just buried his wife) but if he was open to the ideas; he would reap the benefits of the medium's connections.
Now he has talked to a couple of his friends from Colorado who are interested in the meditation and spiritual side of religion. He is taking meditation classes and thinks he has seen Carolyn and his parents at least one time. He had a dream about walking down a hall and on the left side was another hallway. He was startled when he saw Carolyn walking towards him and woke himself up before he could find out if she could speak to him.
He has even gone with his brother to see a medium named Hoyt Robinette who is from Indiana. He flew back to Indiana a couple of months ago to attend one of the sessions with G. You can pull up Hoyt's name online. There is quite a good description of what Hoyt does...R. has experienced the "billet" ceremony and the Spirit card Precipitation ceremony. He did play the tape for us when Hoyt was channeling Carolyn, her deceased brother, and Aunt E. and his mother. I did hear someone on the tape say say S.......... which was Aunt Evelyn's married name.!!!! and it wasn't anyone who had gone to the session. Raymond said he didn't hear it at the time but later when he was listening to the tape; he heard it... We also heard a female voice say "it's hot... R. thinks that was Carolyn because she loved hot weather and would lay in the sun for hours. He also saw the card that had a picture on it and I thought it looked like a mountain range with a blue night sky with stars. Carolyn did love the mountains and being outside. The mountain range was fuchsia and that was one of her favorite colors.
R. is planning to attend a "trumpet ceremony with his brother G. in the future. Below is a message written by someone who did attend a ceremony...
The Trumpet Song
Several weeks ago, on a Thursday, I was fortunate to experience an evening with a medium, par excellence, Rev. Hoyt Robinette from Chesterfield Spiritualist Camp in Anderson, Indiana. The circle was comprised of a group of ten intuits and mediums in various stages of development.
This was a gathering to hear messages from the spiritual with the assistance of three trumpets of various sizes. The trumpet is a megaphone that aids in increasing vocal capacity of those spirits from the other side. Each trumpet has markings that glow in the dark. The larger trumpet had a ring around the mouth and the other had a small cross.
Ten people plus the medium, Rev Hoyt Robinette attended this circle. The location of the meeting was a pitch-black garage because ectoplasm is sensitive to light and deteriorates upon contact with light. Ectoplasm is a gas that emerges from all orifices of the body, passing through mucous membranes. Physical phenomenon depends on the medium?s ability to emit ectoplasm.
The atmosphere of the session was of love and pervading peacefulness. We all gathered into our seats. Rev. Hoyt was the medium for a Dr. who came through as a congenial, friendly spiritual guide and the Master of Ceremonies for the meeting.
Everyone sang a hymn which helps create strong energies. Each person present received a message from a loved one pass over or a spiritual guide and an apport. My message came from my guide of whom I was already familiar. The message was that I was use my gift of healing with the mentally challenged. I am a nurse and understood this message for this is exactly where I work much of the time. I am also a hospice nurse, caring for those who are ready to cross over. An apport is a phenomenon where spirit brings material objects into the room via the trumpet, sometimes from long distances. A couple of times the energy seemed low so we would sing again and the energy became greater once again.
During the session, I saw blue and white colors in the pitch dark along with faces, which I believe were the faces of the spirits present.
My message came from St.Germaine and was an encouragement for me in my work with the mentally distressed and disturbed people, my vocation in life. I am a nurse and work in this field.
My apport was a crystal. I heard it making noise as it came down the trumpet.
Mediumship is a wonderful spiritual vehicle to be of service and encouragement to others. This event will be engraved on my soul's memory of a special event in my life's development.

Raymond seems to get some peace from believing that Carolyn is "safe" and is telling him to "live" and move forward. He was going to a psychic fair on Easter with his friends from Colorado. There is a medium there that they think is good and wanted him to have a session. He seems to be taking in the information but not completely taken "IN" by all of this stuff. I don't think he has spent a lot of money on it either - which is good. Taking meditation lessons is probably a good thing for him to do. He wants to communicate with Carolyn and is desperate to know that she is ok now. He said if she wasn't - he had to make it right. He also said he knows there isn't anything he could do about it but he really wants to make sure she is "safe" and happy. I guess that is the remainder of his belief that he has to protect her...even now. He was told that the brother who had ALS and died several years ago met her "at the veil"....which is the time when your soul crosses over. He was very reassured about that. Also, Carolyn's son has become very involved in the Mormon religion and is working his way through the studies...Her son is supposed to have the Third Eye now and can meditate and has started talking to the deceased brother, his mother, R.'s parents and so on. Apparently this has been quite a source of comfort for R. too.
As for me, I do think there are people who possess special abilities to communicate or see the future or the souls of our loved ones and so on. I am very skeptical about the ceremonies and some of the features that seem like tricks to me. But I hope that if nothing else, this continues to be a healing source for R. He has studied religions for years and is very much aware of the mystical part of any religion. He has taken great comfort in the belief of the mystical connection to religion and that there is no Hell. Instead a person should strive to be as good or perfect as possible and if they fail - they should try again. This seems to have given him a lot of strength and he is moving forward with his life. He had been very skeptical about religion ever since one of his step-daughter's twins died at birth five years ago. He just couldn't understand why God would take an infant child like that...but now he seems to have a deep belief or else he has renewed the beliefs he had once again.
He has been asked to teach again next semester and will probably continue with the community college courses of Philosophy and Religions. He has some good friends, including his boss at the college, and seems to be leaning on them when he needs some support and direction. He said the house is up for sale again. He has been selling or giving away some of the things they had that he doesn't need. He has so much stuff in the house so if it sells, he will have to unload a lot....He doesn't know where he wants to live. He isn't sure he wants to stay in Colorado but right now the house is a comfort for him and he has so many memories there. And, I think if he finds some spiritual connections there; he may want to stay.
We had dinner at a restaurant in Boonville....small but nice. We talked for a long time about his classes and he tried to explain the principles of philosophy, free will and art and so on.
He was offered a job in Kuwait again....but he said he doesn't think he will take it. He doesn't care about the money aspect and the only draw is the adventure. He doesn't know if he really wants to go and we are hoping he turns it down...just because of the danger. Just like a few years ago, he would have a personal bodyguard, a secured car, work with a sheik, live on a compound belonging to the sheik.
A couple of months ago, I think he would have taken it because I don't think he cared if he lived. Now, he does seem interested in life, he has seen his medical doctor and is taking care of himself better so I think he wants to go on and to learn more....especially now that he is getting so involved in the mystical spiritual aspects of religion.
PLEASE DON'T FEEL YOU HAVE TO CONVINCE ME ABOUT MEDIUMS, FRAUD OR REAL, RELIGION OR ANY OTHER ASPECTS OF THIS BELIEF SYSTEM.
