An apple a day.....
I have been eating about 4 apples a week for years. I don't get sick too often either. So maybe that old saying has truth to it.
I went to the throat doctor today for a re-check. I have an underactive thyroid and about 6 months ago, I notice a lump in my throat. I have a husky voice during the morning hours and sometimes my throat just gets dry instantly. I asked my family dr. to check it and he sent me to a specialist. the specialist did a needle biopsy in 3 areas that same day. About a week later, he saw me again, said the biopsy didn't show anything abnormal. He had taken sample cells from 3 areas and all the cells he got were thyroid-related. There was nothing cancerous to see. He raised the mg on my thyroid rx and then gave me some samples for acid reflux. He said the two nodules were near the voice box and he thought possibly acid reflux could be irritating my throat. I told him I had never had heartburn in my life, including when I was pregnant.
But I took the rx for 10 days and it made me feel sick to my stomach. I called him back and told him it wasn't doing anything good for me.
So I was to come back today for a recheck. He said the nodules were much smaller, my throat didn't look irritated like last Oct. I told him I still have the dry throat and those symptoms have not changed He said he was releasing me to my family dr again. I was glad he didn't find anything wrong.
Of course, as I have mentioned before, when I see my family dr on 7-1-05, he won't be pleased about my weight but I can live with that. That is something I have to do myself.
I also had a dentist appointment 2 weeks ago and everything was fine there too. If I just get my weight back under control, my life will be much easier. LOL
I am at the age now where any unusual pains and aches seem more worrisome so I do need to get in gear and take this weight off.
