Yes, we have returned from our short trip to North Carolina.

We went to Southern Indiana and went to the Belterra Casino. We liked this casino. The majority of the penny and nickel slots were on a lower level. We found many new themed slots that we had not tried before. We spent a couple of hours here and had a very good time.

We went through Ohio, driving along the Ohio River. The leaves on the trees were still mostly green. We stopped at Twin Falls State Park. Because of the drought, the twin falls were not running. It was a beautiful setting, however, and we could imagine how lovely it would be if the falls were flowing. Hopefully, the next time we visit; we can see the complete beauty of the area. ....in the spring, there are hundreds of flowering bushes at the base of the falls.

We continued on our road trip through Kentucky, Tennesseee, West Virginia, Virginia and finally North Carolina. We stayed near the Cherokee Casino and had a lovely evening there. We had to park a short distance from the casino but there were shuttle buses to take us to and from the casino. I felt the cigarette smoke was a factor in the enjoyment but overall, we both had a great time. In fact, the next morning, we went back to play for a few more hours. We didn't win anything to take with us but we had a wonderful time trying.

There are a lot of shops and places of interest in Cherokee, N.C. This is an Indian reservation area. Maybe the next time we travel through this area, we can stop to visit the museums.

As we drove on the Blue Ridge Parkway, we started to see some beauty in the trees in that area.

The weather was perfect for the most part. It rained just a bit but it made the leaves and rock look gorgeous.

In one stretch, I think we went through nearly 20 tunnels in just a few hours.

We got to Morgantown, N. C. where we had a motel reservation. We discovered a wonderful restaurant called FATZ CAFE. We had a delicious and inexpensive dinner there. The service was awesome.

We continued on our roadtrip to visit a brother and sister-in-law. They purchased rural property in the area about 5 years ago. In January, they moved to the property. They are living in a tiny 4 room house and building a huge home. They also have built a enormous garage with a 1000 s.f. apt on top. The apt is stacked with all their possessions so they are living in cramped rooms in the original house while the new house is being constructed around the original. They are loving the area and the neighbors are getting used to the Yankees from the North-Eastern part of the USA. The relatives wanted to take us out to dinner that night and we went to.....YES, THE VERY SAME PLACE! We had another great meal and enjoyed ourselves very much.

We started back home on Thursday and stopped at Belterra Casino again. This time, we got a room at the casino. It was pricy and we didn't spend much time in it as we played the slots from 5:30 P.M. until 2:30 A.M. We had a great time, won enough to keep playing for 9 hours and left with empty pockets but hearts full of fun.

So now we are back home, getting back into our normal routine and catching up on all the mail and tv programs that we put aside for a whole week....not to mention...THE LAUNDRY!!!!!

I wanted to let you know that my son has started his own blog site. It is on Xanga and the blogname is sbpd861.
